Busy reading L.A. Confidential and it describes Dud’ Smith as a Lexophile and I had to find out what the gist of that was. The desription?: ‘A lexophile is a lover of words. Other words have been coined to describe people who are fascinated by words and language; logophile is another example of a word which might be used to the same effect.’
So there you have it: Lexophile/Logophile, not as pervy as they sound but I guess if you found someone doing untold things to their favourite text(s) then it might well get there, not to mention the paper cuts.

Well, another pointless rant over.
-Me.
- INTERVIEWER: Could you put the theory into a few words?
- VONNEGUT: It was stated by Paul Engle—the founder of the Writers’ Workshop at Iowa. He told me that, if the workshop ever got a building of its own, these words should be inscribed over the entrance: Don’t take it all so seriously.
- INTERVIEWER: And how would that be helpful?
- VONNEGUT: It would remind the students that they were learning to play practical jokes.
- INTERVIEWER: Practical jokes?
- VONNEGUT: If you make people laugh or cry about little black marks on sheets of white paper, what is that but a practical joke? All the great story lines are great practical jokes that people fall for over and over again.
useless.
Updates—radio script well under way and I think I’ve finally found a way of ‘writing from experience’ more than I usually do.
Hoping to actually finish lyrics to accompany my acoustic songs for the impending house gig/30th birthday. Bit nervey as I’ve usualy had the comfort of being able to hide behind a drumkit at gigs. EEEKKKK.
Finally started writing poetry and hopefully I’ll have my ‘Broken Sonnets’ collection written in time for the Platforms week of literary madness.
The dissertation will be a good start for geting this novel drafted, hopefully by next December, if not before. It’ll be followed by a full episodical screenplay.
I think I’[m basically planning to have no life for as long as possible, call it catch up, call it being a knob, call it what you will. Life seems to work for me when I’m busy and fall apart when I’m not.
-Tyne. :)
this is me today. I WILL CLEAN ALL THE THINGS!
Thi is me tomorrow after a caffeine fix or nine. Everything in sight is getting cleaned, EVERYTHING (in the style of Gary Oldman in Leon).
Never written a music video script so hopefully it’s what they asked for. It’s really got my creative vibe working so I think I’ll revisit old scripts and make something of them, that is, when I’ve got this essay and my dissertation shizz out of the way. Chuffed.
